I hope when you meet Joe from the Arledge Hall plantation you’ll be inspired to sing, too. He wouldn’t do the real Joe justice if he didn’t sing.

Since my series is set in the 1800’s, the fictional Joe doesn’t sing, “Betcha By Golly Wow” in an Aaron Neville voice. Chorus Betcha by golly, wow You're the one that I've been waiting for forever And ever will my love for you keep growin' strong Keep growin' strong Betcha by golly, wow You're the one that I've. But I hope the fictional Joe can give readers a glimpse of the gift he was to those who knew him. Obviously, the fictional Joe still can’t hold a candle to the real man we all knew and loved. In the story, the fictional Joe will demonstrate not only the real Joe’s personality, but also his strength of godly character through the greatest adversity. This is why I have developed a main character in my new series after his legacy.

And he still inspires others to personify that same joy. And he left this world a better place for those that knew him. His tagline, “Leave it better than you found it” wasn’t just something he said. Joe didn’t know how to whine or complain. It’s funny how I always remember Joe singing that song because his personality, character, and life as a whole was truly, Betcha By Golly, WOW. In all of the years I’ve known him, I never heard anyone say anything negative about his character. He really did have a knack for lifting moods everywhere he went.
